It is said that if you educate a man, you educate a man, but if you educate a woman you are educating an entire generation.
And they aren’t wrong -
Women are the lovers, the teachers, the doers and the movers-and-the-shakers of the world. The mothers of the world; Nurturing, empowering and capable beyond our wildest dreams. And ultimately, it really is women who Run the World (girls)!
So in celebration of International Women’s day, we’re cranking the Beyonce, feelin’ ourselves and celebrating all the accomplishments of women past, present and future that cheer us on to continue kicking ass and taking names in a way that only women can.
And in honour of this particularly thoughtful moment, we’re sharing some of our favourite inspirations, from some of our favourite women worldwide:
“I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world. I run my world.”
- Beyonce (the Queen herself)
“Women have to harness their power - it’s absolutely true. It’s just learning not to take the first no. And if you can’t go straight ahead, you go around the corner."
- Cher (now, forever & always)
“I have a woman’s instinct and it’s always a good one, and my inner strength has never let me down.”
- Princess Diana
“Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We’re strongest when we cheer each other on."
- Serena Williams
“I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took an excuse."
- Florence Nightengale (a true OG)
“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish”
“I am my own experiment. I am my own work of art.”
- Madonna (self-love pioneer)
“Think like a Queen; a Queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness.”
“A girl should be two things: who and what she wants.”
- Coco Chanel
“Women should feel empowered by their choices: how they care for themselves, who they spend time with, how they work, how they love … we have so many chances and reasons to feel empowered by our strength as women."
- Felicity Evans (IMBIBE Powerhouse)
“A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretence and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.”
“I will tell you, my daughter of your worth, not your beauty every day. (your beauty is a given, every being is born beautiful). Knowing your worth can save your life. Raising you on beauty alone you will be starved. You will be raw. You will be a wreck. An easy stomach. Always in need of someone to tell you how beautiful you are.”
Sending love, strength, empowerment and inspiration to all women, all over the world, today and everyday.
