These gut – calming gummies will become your regular weekly staple.
I have a jar of these gummies in my fridge most days because they are the bomb!
These gummies also taste great, have no sugar in them and are packed with living probiotics.
Win, win, win!
Most days my girls and I have a handful as we’re running out the door.
I wanted my girls to experience the childhood fun of lollies, wobbly jelly, milk buttons, red frogs and all that crap that are rites of passage….. but I sure am hell aren’t letting them eat that!
These gummies are easy to make, taste great and are low sugar. I make them with Imbibe water kefir or handmade kombucha because these drinks are packed with living probiotics.
However, you can substitute for your own homemade kombucha / water kefir / coconut water kefir or juice.
If you want to know how to make kombucha or water kefir, check out these articles, with video tutorials:
- 1 cup Imbibe Living Water Kefir Blue Spirulina or homemade kombucha or water kefir or juice
- 1 cup Imbibe Water Kefir Hibiscus or homemade kombucha or water kefir or juice
- 8 Tablespoons gelatin / agar agar
- 1-2 TBS honey or sweetener of your choice or none at all
Gently heat the 1 cup Imbibe Living Water Kefir Blue Spirulina with 4 TBS gelatin and honey until the gelatin has dissolved. It generally takes me around 5-10 min.
Once the gelatin has dissolved completely into the liquid, pour the liquid into your choice of:
- Silicon moulds
- Pyrex container (lined with baking paper)
- Any shape container you have (lined with baking paper)
You need to be able to flip the gummies out easily or cut them (like a cake) out of a pyrex/container.
Only fill the container up to halfway with the green liquid, as you want the rest of the vessel to be filled with the red colour gummies.
Place the half-filled moulds in the fridge until set, around 10-20 mins.
Repeat the steps above, but using the Imbibe Living Water Kefir Hibiscus to give you the red colour.
Pour the red mixture over the green to get a two-tone effect.
Place the gummies in the fridge to completely set – around 10-20 mins.
Once firm, flip out of the silicone moulds or cut them into shapes. Place in an air-tight container in the fridge and enjoy. They last around 2-3 weeks in the fridge. But mine only last 4 days!
