DIY Recipes for Radiant Skin & Healthy Hair

We vowed to take a little more time for ourselves this year. And while it’s not always easy, the benefits of a daily 20 minute walk, stretching, connecting with your body, reading a good book before bed rather than being on your phone, and carving out time for self-care rituals are immense. 

These de-stressing activities help slow down the ageing process, improve sleep, increase immunity, help you bounce back faster if you do get sick, aid with digestion and gut health, and boost your mood.

For some “me-time” inspiration, we crafted 3 easy DIY recipes for luscious hair, radiant skin, and even skin tone. The best part? They can all be made using ingredients from your pantry or fridge.

So, darling, this is your sign to put your phone on silent, and take some time for YOU.

ACV + Honey Hair Mask

FOR GLOSSY, SHINY LOCKS

 

Ingredients:

1/3 cup raw honey

1/3 cup apple cider vinegar

1/3 cup organic coconut oil

Directions:

  1. Dampen Hair with spray bottle
  2. Evenly apply hair mask to hair and comb through
  3. Wrap hair in towel and let sit for 20 minutes
  4. Shampoo and condition as normal

Coffee Coconut Oil Body Scrub

FOR DRY, FLAKY SKIN + PROLONGING TANS 

 

Ingredients:

1⁄2 cup fresh ground coffee grinds

1⁄2 cup brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a jar until evenly combined
  2. Get in the shower and leave the water off
  3. Gently scrub the mixture all over your body, focusing on arms, belly, thighs and legs, avoiding eyes and face
  4. Leave for up to 3 minutes then rinse and shower as normal

Turmeric Face Mask

FOR HYPER-PIGMENTATION + WRINKLES

 

Ingredients:

1⁄4 cup of coconut yoghurt

1⁄2 tsp fresh ground turmeric or

turmeric powder

1⁄2 lemon juiced

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients together evenly
  2. Apply thick, even layer to face and neck with the back of a chilled spoon or fingertips
  3. Let sit for 15 minutes
  4. Rinse with warm water, wash as normal
  5. Follow with the Skincare Trio for maximum results
