Felicity's Winter Rituals for Wellness

Felicity's Winter Rituals for Wellness

Longer nights. Shorter days.

Winter asks us to pause.

To move a little slower. To lean into rituals that give more than they take.

I’m reminding myself - this isn’t the season for striving.

It’s for small, deliberate acts that nourish skin, gut, nervous system and spirit.

Here’s what’s working for me lately.

Not revolutionary. But it works.

Post-Pilates Smoothie

This one’s thick, mousse-y and honestly a little addictive. I blend it post-class or on slow mornings when I want something indulgent and supportive. Magnesium-rich and full of good fats, it’s like a reward in a glass.

The blend:

  •  Natural peanut butter
  • Unsweetened almond milk (I use Pure Harvest)
  • RECOVER REST (chocolate magnesium)
  • Banana
  • Walnuts
  • Miracle Collagen (for extra skin & hair support)
  • Optional: a date or two for sweetness

Eating Slowly

It sounds simple, but presence at mealtimes changes everything. No scrolling. No rushing. Just breathe, chewing (yes, chewing!), and letting the digestive system do its work. This kind of slowness helps prevent bloating after meals and helps digestion.

According to the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, chewing each bite 30 times significantly improves digestion, nutrient absorption and satiety. It's one of the most overlooked practices for gut health and clarity.

Cleansing as Ritual

There’s a quiet intimacy to balm cleansing in winter. I take my time, massaging Melting Balm into skin until it softens into silk. It dissolves SPF, makeup, and tension.

The day fades, and what’s left is skin that is hydrated, springy and bouncy.

Among all the other jobs to do that keep rattling around in my mind, this is not another job to do. The lights are low, the water is warm, and for a few minutes, it’s just this moment.

Perimenopausal Movement

There was a time I pushed through. Cardio, HIIT, always chasing the next sweat. But it left me flat. Adrenally fatigued and strangely disconnected from my body. I sprained my ankle in a class and realised I was doing everything right, but still feeling off.

Now, I move differently. I walk. I stretch. I do pilates. This creates some space. And in that space, I feel stronger, steadier and ready to take on the world.

I’d love to know what Rituals for Wellness are bringing you back to yourself lately. xx
