Have you been following along as I swap the office for a tropical paradise during my working holiday in Bali and Lombok?

There’s something transformative about stepping into the unknown—releasing the tight grip on everyday routines, taking the road less travelled, and shaking things up. Especially as we embrace the fresh energy of a New Year.

A change of environment has a way of lifting your perspective, helping you see things in an entirely new light.

But change doesn’t have to mean hopping on the next plane. Small, everyday choices can create the same effect.

  • Take a new route to the office.
  • Experiment with a new recipe or flavour.
  • Try a different Pilates instructor.
  • Visit a new café.
  • Switch up your coffee order.
  • Go for a swim instead of your usual walk.

 

 

The new perspective—these small wins—can inspire that fresh energy we all crave. How will you shake things up today?

 

Here are the rituals for wellness I’ve been focusing on lately:

 

01. Movement

Climbing hills, going up and down stairs, sitting on the floor and standing back up—these functional movements may seem small, but they’re so underrated for maintaining muscle mass and supporting healthy ageing.

In my everyday life, I often catch myself sitting for hours on end. Sound familiar? That’s why I’ve been intentional about movement. 

I’ve been trying to take the stairs, walk to the bus stop, or stroll to dinner—those small efforts add up more than you think.

In fact, a study published in 2023 demonstrated that functional training could not only prevent injury risk, but also could enhance the ability of athletic performance.  

This study, (last updated in 2023), shows that functional movement exercises are essential to maintaining physical function and independence in older adults.

 

02. Collagen Banking

03. Embracing Spaciousness


Try this - next time you go for a walk, could you leave your phone behind?  Skip the podcast or playlist. Just walk.


Our minds are often overflowing—constantly bombarded with noise. Adding more chatter, even in the form of podcasts, can fuel that sense of overwhelm. What we need more than ever is stillness, space, and quiet to process the chaos.


Embrace the stillness, free from external distractions.  I have found for me, this has increased my feeling of spaciousness and has brought less feelings of overwhelm to my life.
