The Fairest of Them All: Rose Oil

The Fairest of Them All: Rose Oil

Long revered for its therapeutic, beautifying effects, rose oil naturally delivers a multitude of benefits for everything from your skin, to your nose, your hair and even to your sex life (can I get an AMEN?). As far as ingredients go, you’d be hard pressed to find one more synonymous with all things romance, love, passion, pleasure, self-care, fragrance and beauty - and boy does it live up to its reputation.

When we formulated our cult favourite pleasure-product, V Oil, it came from a desire to support women’s health, nurturing everything from healing, to ageing, labouring, to living pleasure infused lives - all with the most intoxicating, aromatic appeal.

What makes Rose Oil so effective, and addictive?
Well, it’s fuelling our fires in more ways than one...

Soft in all the right ways, yet a complete powerhouse in others (it’s all about balance, right?), rose oil is the hero of our sensual, satiating, hydrating (and exquisitely scented) V Oil - so it’s no wonder why we now can’t live without it. What makes rose oil so effective (and addictive)? Well, it’s fuelling our fires in more ways than one:

1. Vaginal Health

Vagina, Vagina, Vagina. As early as a few years ago, discussing the big V (or little V, chubby V, prickly V or otherwise V) was still pretty taboo. Now we can’t talk about it enough, but do we do enough?

When it comes to hydrating, nourishing and protecting our skin, it’d be fair to say that we are well versed in body oils and creams, and I’m sure we’re not alone in owning 7,349 face oils, serums, creams and tonics. But a lot of us are flat out ignoring our most delicate (and cantankerous) skin tissue - our vulva.

That’s where rose oil comes in. When originating from a clean, organic source, Rose Oil is well known to sooth, nourish and hydrate the fast absorbing tissue of the vagina, while also harmonising and balancing pH. Keeping your pH in check is imperative to vaginal health, reducing the risk of bacteria, sexually transmitted infections, itching, thrush, alarming odours and bacterial vaginosis - none of which we welcome in 2022.

You can also double up your pH efforts with a quality probiotic, further fighting bacterial overgrowth and imbalances.

Another incredible, vagina focussed benefit of rose oil is its direct impact on reproductive health, accelerating recovery from trauma and labour. Boasting antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, rose oil is also proven to reduce pain in both postoperative and labour related instances.

You heard it here first: Rose oil is the MVP of your vaginal arsenal.

2. Skin

Any skin, anywhere, anytime. Rose oil has been shown to diminish the dryness and discomfort that all skin is susceptible to. With a completely neutral pH level, rose oil is non-irritating for all skin types and for all locations (ahem). When added to a quality carrier oil such as jojoba or sweet almond, rose oil can absorb easily into skin and positively impact eczema, rosacea, and dehydration while also actively working to heal acne, scarring, and arduous ageing.

Here at IMBIBE, we’re in the habit of adding several drops of V Oil, rich in rose, to our face and body lotions to deliver all these beautiful benefits, and a hint of irresistible scent. V Oil can also be used for sensual moments between you and your partner, or you and yourself. In this arena, we encourage you to choose-your-own-adventure.

3. Aromatics

And here’s where rose oil really shines: Its alluring, enticing and captivating aroma. Made from the cold-pressed oils of only rose petals, the certified organic ones, rose oil is softly scented, adding a hint of temptation to the skin.

Used for centuries as an inhalant and for aromatic treatments, rose oil is known to reduce anxiety, pain and inflammation throughout the body.

Rose oil (as with most essential oils) acts directly on the limbic system, which impacts many physiological functions, including emotional and sexual harmony

Rose oil (as with most essential oils) acts directly on the limbic system, which impacts many physiological functions, including emotional and sexual harmony. Upon inhalation, this incredible essential oil has many beneficial influences on blood pressure, heart health, hormones, and menopausal symptoms, including anxiety, night sweats and low libido. That’s right - rose oil is also a potent aphrodisiac, increasing sexual desire, libido, and arousal, without affecting estrogen. Basically rose oil gives beauty, balance, and better sex, with an inimitable scent.
